Techshare India 2016

Techshare India is one of my favorite events and perhaps only largest conference on Accessibility and exhibition on assistive technologies happens in India with global participation. Started 2008, Techshare India is a bi-annual event to spread the word about accessibility and assistive technologies.

4th Edition of Techshare India will be held on 3rd and 4th of March, 2016 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Call for papers for Techshare India 2016 are currently open and last date to submit abstract(s) is: 30th September, 2016.

About Techshare India

Access to information and communication technologies is very essential for the growth of every individual and the community as a whole. A digitally inclusive society ensures equal participation by every citizen and is therefore very critical for the overall economic development of the nation.

Techshare India 2016, sets out to address issues of access and use of ICT, mobile, TV, Video, Kiosks, wearable technologies and all the new technologies that each one of us is embracing on a day to day basis.

There are four critical challenges in enhancing the usage of inclusive technology amongst governments, corporates, education institutes and people with disabilities. These are:

  • Awareness
  • Access
  • Ability
  • Application

I was fortunate enough to have worked on this conference when Techshare India happened for the first time in 2008 and also was able be of some help in 2010 and 2014. In addition, got an opportunity to speak at this wonderful conference in 2010, 2012 and 2014; of course have submitted my abstract for this time as well!

Looking forward to meeting some of you at Techshare India.

CSUN 2016

31st edition of CSUN Technology and Persons with Disabilities conference will be held from 21 – 26 March, 2016 at The Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel, San Diego,

CSUN is one of the largest conference and exhibition on technology and persons with disabilities and attended by about 4000 people every year.

About CSUN Conference

For 30 years, the Center on Disabilities, through the Annual International Technology and Persons with Disabilities Conference, has provided an inclusive setting for researchers, practitioners, exhibitors, end users, speakers and other participants to share knowledge and best practices in the field of assistive technology. In 2015, the conference drew more than 4,800 people to San Diego. Known as a forum that showcases cutting edge technology and practical solutions that can be utilized to remove the barriers that prevent the full participation of persons with disabilities in educational, workplace and social settings, the conference is the largest of its kind in the world.

Thanks to Yahoo, I have attended CSUN in 2010 and 2011 and in fact, presented 2 papers in 2011.

Currently General Call for papers – CSUN are open and last date to submit an abstract is 25th September, 2015. So hurry up!

To conclude, I highly recommend all these three events for anyone who cares for accessibility.
Best,
Srinivasu
